Biography — Maayan Elyakim
Born 1985 in Tel Aviv, Israel, currently based in Tel Aviv. Maayan Elyakim is a multidisciplinary Postwar & Contemporary artist working across sculpture, painting, and installation. His work explores the interplay between control and spontaneity, often transforming architectural elements into contemplative explorations of presence and perception.
He received his BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem (2010), where he studied in the Department of Fine Arts. Prior to that, he studied Video and New Media at Bezalel from 2004 to 2006.
Elyakim's exhibitions and projects have been hosted by major venues such as a solo exhibition at the Neutra VDL Studio and Residences, Los Angeles (2025), the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2022), Labirynt Gallery, Lublin (2021), The Schocken Library, Jerusalem (2018), Sommer Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv (2018), and Pulchri Studio, The Hague (2015).
He has participated in prestigious residencies and fellowship programs, including Artport Tel Aviv, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Pilchuck Glass School. He currently serves as an Artist on Campus at the Technion Institute of Technology, Haifa, and is a faculty member at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, and the Shenkar School of Art.
