URI ZAMIR

Uri Zamir is a contemporary artist working across sculpture, performance, and video installations. His work explores motifs of myth, space, and theater, often drawing inspiration from archaeological artifacts and the transformation of ordinary objects into entities of sublime significance.

He received his BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem (2019), and studied at Tokyo University of the Arts as part of a student exchange program (2017).

Zamir’s exhibitions and projects have been presented at institutions such as the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art (2022), Rosenfeld Gallery, Tel Aviv (2021), Studio Bank, Tel Aviv (2021), and the Edmond de Rothschild Center, Tel Aviv (2020). He has also participated in group exhibitions at RawArt Gallery, Tel Aviv (2023), The Artist Residence, Herzliya (2023), and the Jewish Museum, Munich (2020).

He has received several fellowships, grants, and awards, including the Artport Residency Program, Tel Aviv (2023), the Young Artist Award from the Israeli Ministry of Culture (2023), inclusion in Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30” (2023), the Mifal HaPayis Artist Fellowship Exhibition Grant (2021), and the Honors Fellowship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (2019).

In 2025, Zamir is undertaking a residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, supported by a grant from Artis.
